Ex-Army captain tagged in robbery case arrested
A former Army captain involved in a robbery case was arrested by combined police and military forces in Iloilo City on Monday.
Ex-Army Captain Dexter Balane was arrested in his rented house in Brgy. Unka 1, Pavia town at around 12:38p.m., said Armed Forces spokesperson Lt. Col Noel Detoyato on Tuesday.
Balane has a standing warrant of arrest for robbery issued in a regional court in Pagadian City last March.
He and other four members of Martilyo Gang were involved in a robbery at ML Lhuillier outlet at Gaisano Mall in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur in February.
Police records also said he is a leader of the Balane Robbery Group. Balane left the military service in 2013.
He was also tagged in the SM North robbery in 2013, where P1.4 million worth of jewelry was taken by smashing glass cases.

He is now under the custody of Pavia, Iloilo Police.
