“For this reason, the EJs’ (Executive Judges) earlier announcement of work suspension at the Makati trial courts remains,” the high court said.

But a skeletal force is on call at the Enhanced Justice on Wheels (EJOW) buses parked near the old Makati City Hall for urgent filings and receipt of pleadings and motions until 3:00 p.m.

Embattled Mayor Jejomer Erwin “Junjun” Binay holed up in his office at the city hall for two days before temporarily vacating his post Wednesday. Tension escalated at the city hall grounds Tuesday morning when officers of the Department of Interior and Local Government served the suspension order.
