MANILA, Philippines—A 14-year old boy from Cebu City lost his right hand and a five-year-old his index finger due to firecracker explosions, the Department of Health said Friday.

The victims, who have not been identified, were among the 140 recorded firework-related injuries since December 21, Health Assistant Secretary Dr. Eric Tayag said.
