This is the focus of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry in this June’s Cebu Business Month (CBM) celebration.

Nelia Navarro, Department of Trade and Industry provincial director, said the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) will be showcased in the month-long celebration on June 15 to 19.

Navarro said the MSME activity will carry the theme “Cebu – the hub of sustainable lifestyle in the Philippines” which is in line with the DTI’s thrust for a green economy.

Navarro said “green economy” would mean sustainable consumption and production.

“Green Destination. This is what we want Cebu and its enterprises to become and this is our new platform for entrepreneurship,” said Navarro.

Navarro together with CCCI officials launched the Cebu Business Month 2013 last Wednesday at the Marco Polo Plaza.

CBM 2013’s theme “Excite Cebu!” shows the banner industries and sectors it will promote with Excite Cebu standing for “Experience Cebu’s Creative Industries, ICT and BPO, Tourism and Entrepreneurship towards Powering-Up for Global Business.”

“This year’s CBM takes a step further with the launching of the Great Cebu Sale that will promote the region throughout the nation and abroad,” said this year’s overall chairman Melanie Ng.
