Southwestern University’s (SWU) multi-awarded long distance runners John Philip Dueñas and Mary Joy Tabal proved their supremacy anew by ruling the 12-kilometer race of the Sonshine Radio Run of dyAR 765 yesterday at the Ayala Center Cebu Terraces.

Dueñas clocked 42 minutes and three seconds to top the men’s side while Tabal had a time of 47:38 to dominate the distaff side.

The victory by both SWU runners have made them a deadly combo in running.  They’ve won races earlier this year, among them were the St. Peter Run, Run for Kids with Cancer, Run to the Power of Three, Run for a Child’s Future, SRP Sun Down Run and the 16k category of the dyAB Kapamilya Run.

The run, which was part of  dyAR’s fifth-year anniversary celebration, attracted 1,300 runners.

Among them were Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama and his family, who registered in the 6k category but ran the full 12k distance, according to race director Joel Baring.

ABS-CBN’s “Biggest Loser” participants headed by Cebuano  Allan Chuachoy also graced the running event.

Cash prizes and trophies were given to the winners
