1 dead, 6 hurt when Isabela trader rams motorcycles

CITY OF CAUAYAN, Isabela – A trader rammed three motorcycles with his car, killing a 20-year-old man and wounding six others, at 4:30 a.m. on Friday (Aug. 24), police said.

Aaron Christian Reyes, 22, had an altercation with slain motorcycle rider, Jake Anthony Macadangdang, whom he allegedly hit with his car at the corner of the Golden Shower Street in San Fermin village.

Macadangdang’s teenaged back riders, Johnmark Sanchez, 19, and Bryan Barroga, 16, were injured.

Reyes also plowed into a second motorcycle carrying Robie Sinnott, 20, and Ericka Jesura, and a third motorcycle driven by Derik Villafuerte and carrying back rider Daryl Ordonez.

All six riders were rushed to the Ester Garcia Medical Hospital in the city for treatment.

Reyes was pursuing the motorcycles, following a fistfight he reportedly lost, said Senior Inspector Frances Littaua, Isabela police spokesperson.

The suspect first struck Macadangdang’s motorcycle, before he raced after the six other victims.

Police arrested Reyes, along with a companion, trader Hugiebert Moico, 28, who was in the vehicle.

He faces charges of murder, multiple frustrated murder and damage to property.
