A formal complaint should be filed before the Land Transportation Franchise and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) before it could discuss the case of drivers who refuse to give student fare discounts.

LTFRB board member Atty. Aileen Lizada said on Monday that a video complaint is more effective.

“Mas effective talaga kapag video, at least klaro na masyado, the details are already in the video itself, no need for clarification (Video is more effective because it is clear and the details are already there. There is no need for clarification,” Lizada told INQUIRER.net.

“But a picture of the plate number together with the details (such as time and place of incident) will suffice,” she said.

Lizada said that in filing a complaint, a “school ID is generally accepted” even if there is no date of validity.

The LTFRB executive also assured the public that LTFRB’s public assistance group would help the complainants.

“Kailangan po mayroon tayong complaint under oath (We need a formal complaint under oath), but our public assistance will assist anyone who is willing to formalize their complaint,” she said. /ee
