A low pressure area (LPA) and Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies and rain showers in the country, the state weather bureau said on Saturday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the LPA would bring cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao regions.

Palawan, the rest of Visayas and of Mindanao will also have the same weather condition but caused by the ITCZ.

Pagasa advised the residents in the said areas to take extra caution for possible flooding and landslides due to light to heavy rains.

As of 3 a.m., the LPA and the ITCZ were last spotted at 580 kilometer East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. /muf
