Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade urged the public on Wednesday not to tempt government officials and employees by offering bribes to speed-up transactions.

Tugade said solving corruption in the country is a two-way process, and that government officials should also not be tempted by such acts.

“Ang pagsupil ng korapsyon, two-way yan. Wag niyo ilapit sa tukso ang mga empleyado kasi tayo mismo ang naglalagay sa mga sarili natin sa alanganin,” Tugade said in a statement.

The transportation chief also warned the officials that would be found guilty of being corrupt that he would immediately fire them.

“Doon naman sa magpapatukso, yariin ko talaga kayo. Alam niyong hindi ako nagbibiro,” he said.   /muf
