2 hired guns nabbed in Compostela Valley

DAVAO CITY – Police authorities on Wednesday arrested two suspected guns for hire in Montevista town, Compostela Valley, a police spokesperson said Thursday.

Alex Dianson Jr., 21, and Jayson Castillo, 24, were arrested following the implementation of several search warrants issued by a local court in Tapia village around 5:30 a.m., Southern Mindanao police spokesperson Chief Insp. Milgrace Driz said.

Among the weapons recovered during the operations were three caliber .45 pistols, a fragmentation grenade, an airgun and a marble firing rifle as well as over a dozen bullets for cal. 45 pistol.

Another suspect, 23-year-old Kevin Atong, was not around when the search warrants were served and was now being hunted down, Driz said.

The Montevista police said Castillo’s group was tagged as behind the series of shooting incidents in Montevista and the nearby towns of Compostela and Monkayo, although no specific incident was provided.
