2 drug suspects slain by cops in Ecija gunfight

CABANATUAN CITY – Two suspected drug peddlers were killed by policemen during a Tuesday night (May 1) drug bust that turned violent in Barangay (village) Kapitan Pepe here, police said.

Dominador Balintag and an unidentified companion drew out their weapons and shot at an undercover policeman at 8:40 p.m., prompting his colleagues to fire back, killing the suspects, said Supt. Ponciano Zafra, city police chief.

Balintag was in the police drug watch list, Zafra said. 

Recovered from the crime scene were the suspects’ tricycle, two revolvers, and several sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth).
