SWS: Duterte’s trust rating suffers 10-point drop in Q1 survey

The trust rating of President Rodrigo Duterte suffered a 10-point decline in the First Quarter 2018 Social Weather Stations (SWS) Net Trust Rating.

The survey, conducted from  March 23 to 27 with 1, 200 respondents found three out of four respondents have much trust, 14% undecided, and 10% with little trust with the President.

This means that Duterte got a net trust rating of “very good” +65, a 10 point decrease from his “excellent” +75 in December 2017.

SWS said the net trust rating of the President suffered a decline in all areas.

The net trust rating of the President remained “excellent in Mindanao although it suffered a five-point decline from +94 in December 2017 to +89 in March 2018.

His net trust rating in Visayas also remained excellent although it was also down by six points from +76 in December 2017 to +70 ) in March 2018.

In Balance Luzon, the President’s net trust rating remained “very good” although it had a three-point decline from +56 in December 2017 to +53 in March 2018.

In Metro Manila, it fell one grade from “excellent” to “very good” from +73  in December 2017 to +62 in March 2018.

Despite the decline, Malacañang said it remained grateful over the high net trust rating of the President.

On the First Quarter 2018 Social Weather Stations Net Trust Rating of PRRD

“We welcome the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showing a +65 net trust rating for President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, which the polling firm classified as “very good” and described as similar to the “very good” +60 in September 2017<‘ Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement on Friday.

Roque noted that Duterte’s net trust ratings remain “excellent” in Visayas and Mindanao, known bailiwicks of the Chief Executive, while “very good” in Balance Luzon and Metro Manila.

“We are thus grateful for our people’s vote of confidence with significant trust in the President, amid being subject to unending criticisms and attacks,” he said.
