Family problem, not robbery, behind Nueva Ecija massacre — police
Family problem triggered the fatal hacking of six people including a 10-year old child in Nueva Ecija on Friday, a police official said.
Chief Insp. Ranny Casilla of the San Leonardo police dismissed on Saturday allegations that robbery was the cause of the massacre as no missing valuables were recorded.
“Ito po ay problema lang po sa pamilya,” Casilla said in an interview with dzMM.
Casilla said they have already identified a person of interest in the killing but chose not to disclose the identity.
According to Casilla, a person of interest will undergo investigation that might help to solve a case.
He added that the individual has already confessed to the authorities some details related to the killing. Casilla did not say if the person of interest surrendered or was arrested.
