Ex-Bataan mayor’s son, son’s partner found dead

HERMOSA, Bataan — The son of former-Mayor Efren Cruz died on the way to a hospital, while the victim’s partner was found dead at their home on Saturday afternoon.

The elder Cruz discovered Dr. Christian Cruz lying at the family home in Barangay (Village) Palihan.

He rushed his son, a defeated mayoral candidate in 2010, to the Bataan Peninsula Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

The former mayor also found the decomposing remains of the doctor’s 31-year-old live-in partner, Larlyn Belleza, at their house in Barangay Mambog, said Supt. Marcelo Dayag, Bataan police director.

The police have not released details about how the couple died, adding they have yet to establish if foul play was involved.

Forensic investigators found receipts and a prescription for controlled medicine such as sleeping pills inside Belleza’s bedroom. /cbb
