MRT deploys 12 trains as repairs improve
After two months, the Metro Rail Transit line-3 (MRT-3) again managed to deploy 12 trains on Sunday as it continued repairs to improve train service.
MRT-3 management said that at 6:12 a.m. its 12th train went into service and trimmed intervals between train arrivals down to seven minutes.
The last time the MRT-3 had 12 trains in operation was on Jan. 22, media relations officer Aly Narvaez told INQUIRER.net
Narvaez said the increase in number of operating trains was because needed spare parts had arrived.
“We largely attribute this improvement to the ongoing delivery of the spare parts we procured last year,” she said.
According to Narvaez, 70% of the parts already arrived in the country and were being installed on the trains.
