No storm on the horizon, Pagasa

A low pressure area (LPA) off Palawan is not likely to intensify into a tropical depression, the state weather bureau said Monday.

The weather disturbance was last spotted 265 kilometers southwest of Puerto Princesa City, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Zamboanga Peninsula and the province of Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA.

The Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas and the province of Quezon are affected by the tail-end of a cold front. Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected in these areas.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain in the Cagayan Valley, Cordilleras, and the Ilocos region.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said. /cbb
