Tagle urges clergy and faithful to stand up for dignity of life
Manila archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle called on members of the clergy as well as religious and lay organizations in his archdiocese to join Saturday’s “Walk for Life” prayer rally in Manila.
In a video message, the prelate appealed to the faithful to take part in the prayer rally at the Quirino Grandstand and stand up for the dignity of life, which at times has been neglected.
“We invite you to this Walk for Life, walk with us for the dignity of life. Let us establish this wonderful gift of life, which at times is disrespected,” Tagle said.
He added: “Walking is a symbol of life. Let us walk for our brothers and sisters whose lives are beset with problems and threats.”
The “Walk for Life” prayer rally in Manila will be held on Saturday from 4 am to 8 am at the Quirino Grandstand, with simultaneous activities in other parts of the country.

Earlier, organizers said the prayer rally will not only uphold the dignity of life and condemn the spate of extra-judicial killings.
The “Walk for Life” will be also an avenue for Catholics to air their concerns on ongoing attempts to change the 1987 Constitution.
The Archdiocese of Manila also formally invited members of the clergy, as well as those from religious groups and lay organizations to join the prayer rally.
In circular 2018-04 dated February 6, Fr. Reginald Malicdem, chancellor of the archdiocese, invited the faithful to take part in the activity.
Malicdem said the Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas, in its recent National Biennial Convention, “has resolved to institutionalize the Walk for Life simultaneously nationwide every year in the month of February.” /muf
