Mayor, vice mayor with faces on ambulance suspended
ASINGAN, PANGASINAN—The mayor and vice mayor of this town have been suspended for a year for allowing their faces to be printed on the side of the town ambulance.
Mayor Heidee Chua and Vice Mayor Carlos Lopez Jr. left their offices on Friday after the Department of the Interior and Local Government served the suspension order issued by the Ombudsman, which found the two officials guilty of simple misconduct and of conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.
Lopez said they heeded the Ombudsman’s order but insisted they did nothing wrong. —GABRIEL CARDINOZA
