BIR posts 3rd straight win in Arena-7 hoop

THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)-Cebu posted its third straight win after trouncing the Social Security System (SSS), 47-41, Wednesday afternoon to snare the early lead in Group B in the ongoing elimination round of the 2011 ARENA-7 Sportsfest basketball tournament at the Sacred Heart School covered court.

BIR had a sluggish start and trailed SSS, 5-8 but rallied back in the 2nd canto to grab the lead at halftime, 19-16. From there, BIR never relinquished the lead.

The loss is the second setback for SSS in three games for a, 1-2 card.

Leo Galvez led BIR with 14 points while Reynante Sallerio and Nike Jaranilla paced losing SSS with 17 points combined.
