Lapu roads closed for parade

SEVERAL roads will be closed for traffic for today’s civic-military parade in Lapu-Lapu City as part of the annual fiesta of the Birhen sa Regla on Nov. 21.

Starting 10 a.m., roads leading to B.M. Dimataga will be closed, said Frank Brazil, chief of the City Traffic Management System.

Other roads to be closed are Langub, Ompad, Mangubat, F. Martir, W. Risdon, R. Dela Serna and P. Rodriguez Streets.

Roadside parking is strictly prohibited.

Designated parking areas will be at the corner of P. Rodriguez and Dad Cleland Streets and at the PUJ Terminal 2 in barangay Pajo.

Anthony Obenza, chief of the Lapu-Lapu City police, said enough police personnel will be fielded to maintain order during the parade and monitor activities of tor individuals who are involved in robbery and other petty crimes who might take advantage of the festivity./CORRESPONDENT FE MARIE D.
