DID YOU KNOW: 3,597 measles-rubella case reported nationwide

A total of 3,597 suspected cases of measles-rubella were reported nationwide from Jan. 1 to Dec. 2, 2017, according to the Department of Health.

Of the figure, 251 cases or 6.98 percent were classified as confirmed measles while 448 cases or 12.46 percent were classified as confirmed rubella (German measles).

Compared to the same period last year, the cases of  measles were 253.52 percent higher while rubella cases went up by 181.76 percent. —Marielle Medina
