Falsely accused, then stabbed dead

A man falsely accused of stealing a fighting cock was stabbed dead in Caloocan City on Friday night, police said.

John Paloma, 44, from Pandi, Bulacan province, died after being attacked by Domingo Banguilan, who claimed that the victim had stolen his fighting cock, according to the investigator, PO1 Karl Piggangay.

Around 9 p.m. on Friday, Paloma was at a house on Nadurata Street, Grace Park West, when a fan-knife-wielding Banguilan approached him.

Banguilan stabbed Paloma twice before a security guard from a nearby shop rushed to subdue the attacker and managed to take away his knife.
