Balutan to resign if Cam becomes PCSO chair
The general manager of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) would rather resign from his post if newly-appointed PCSO board member Sandra Cam becomes the chairperson of the agency.
PCSO General Manager Alexander Balutan claimed that Cam, who criticized the P6-million Christmas party of the PCSO in a five-star hotel, has long been eyeing to be the chair of the PCSO.
“Bago pa lang sya dumating sinasabi na nya sa media na gusto nya mag-chairman,” Balutan said in an interview over Radyo Inquirer on Friday.
“Hindi pa man sya pumapasok dito, naga-apply palang, nung araw, last year, ganun na sinabsabi nya, lilinisin nya kami rito sa PCSO so sumakit ang loob namin dito. we are building up the reputation of PCSO,” he added.

The official also aired his disappointment over Cam’s alleged attempt to taint the reputation of their agency.
Cam, a former jueteng whistleblower, earlier criticized as “inappropriate” the P10-million Christmas party of PCSO in a five-star hotel.

Balutan later clarified that they only spent P6 million for the party.
“Kumpara po sa mga nakaraan malayo po. Very austere, yung mga pagkain po hindi gaanong bongga,” he said.
He also said that the PCSO decided on the party as a collegial body.
“Collegial body po yan eh. Ininvite nalang namin sya (Cam). Pero iba ang dating sa kanya, but that’s her own opinion,” he said.
