MRT-3 train stalls again
A Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) train broke down again on Wednesday, disembarking hundreds of its passengers.
An MRT-3 service report said that a train bogged down at 7:46 a.m. “due to technical problem.”
It unloaded passengers at Ortigas southbound station.
The almost-daily train breakdowns and glitches have drawn strong criticisms from the public and government officials.
Last week, an MRT train car got detached on the northbound section between Ayala and Buendia stations forcing the off-loading at least 130 passengers.
President Rodrigo Duterte has apologized for the incident but maintained that he would not remove Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade for the MRT mess. /kga
