Oriental Mindoro town ABC president nabbed in buy-bust ops

CITY OF CALAPAN – The president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) in the town of Victoria in Oriental Mindoro was arrested late afternoon Tuesday in a buy-bust operation, police said Wednesday.

Suspect Amando Orbeta was arrested by police operatives in a buy-bust in Babangonan, Victoria, his own village where he is chief, at around 4:15 p.m. Orbeta is on the police’s list of high value targets in the government’s campaign against illegal drugs.

Confiscated from him were 12 pieces of heat-sealed transparent sachets containing suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride), the P1,000 bill used as marked money, and more than P31,000 cash.  /je
