Tropical Depression ‘Maring’ to exit PH landmass Tuesday evening

Tropical Depression “Maring” is expected to exit the Philippine landmass via Zambales-Bataan on Tuesday evening, the state weather agency said.

In a press briefing, weather forecaster Loriedin dela Cruz of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Maring is likely to leave the Philippine area of responsibility by Wednesday evening or early Thursday.

Maring was last tracked over Bacolor, Pampanga, packing the same speed of 15 kilometers per hour west northwest, Pagasa said.

It blew winds of 60 kph near the center and gusts of up to 100 kph.

Signal No. 1 remained hoisted over Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Northern Quezon including Polillo island, Southern Aurora, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan and Pangasinan.

Maring slammed Mauban, Quezon on Tuesday morning, and later crossed Manila and Laguna in the afternoon.

Moderate to heavy rains are expected over Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan and Pangasinan.

The weather bureau also warned of dangerous sea travel over the seaboards of Central Luzon, Calabarzon and Mindoro.

Typhoon “Lannie,” meanwhile, continued to head toward Batanes-Taiwan area.
