Sabutan Festival
The town of San Luis in Aurora province features sabutan, a pandan-like plant found in the province. The indigenous material is used to weave products such as hats, place mats and native dresses. Festivities include dance presentation, cultural shows, trade fair and exhibits.

Tsinelas Festival
Article continues after this advertisementConsidered as the north’s slippers capital, Gapan City in Nueva Ecija province celebrates its cityhood anniversary with street dancing and float parade featuring slippers of all sizes. The city is one of the country’s biggest producers of slippers using synthetic materials.
Aug. 26
Kalivungan Festival
Kickoff of the weeklong festival in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato province showcasing the province’s culture and traditions. Events in kalivungan, an indigenous word meaning “gathering,” include ethnic dances, rituals, music, games and cultural presentations.
