3 die in Bataan road mishap

DINALUPIHAN, BATAAN—Three jeepney passengers were killed and 18 others were injured when their vehicle collided with a cargo truck at 8:30 a.m. on Friday in Barangay Luakan here.

Police investigators said Cynthia Penaflor, 50, wife of a former regional trial court judge, and Armand Felicitas Dacayo, of San Benito village, were listed as among the fatalities in the accident. The third slain passenger is yet to be identified as of posting time.

The other injured passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals in Dinalupihan town.

Investigation disclosed that the cargo truck, which was bound for Olongapo City, struck the jeepney at the opposite lane when it tried to overtake another vehicle. JPV
