Bus conductor killed after holdup men kick him out of vehicle
MANILA, Philippines—A mini-bus conductor died Wednesday night following a hold-up incident along Centennial Road, Barangay (village) Putol in Kawit, Cavite, police said Thursday.
According to Philippine National Police spokesman Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., Nathaniel de la Cruz, conductor of a mini-bus with license plate DVG 734, was killed after he was stabbed and kicked out of the bus by four unidentified armed men who had held up the bus around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Cruz said De la Cruz was run over by a speeding vehicle after he fell from the bus. He died on the spot, Cruz added.
Cruz, in a text message to reporters, said that the robbers fled after stealing the bus passengers’ belongings.
Police report said that one of the four suspects was killed in the ensuing pursuit operation later that evening. The killed suspect was not identified.—Jamie Marie Elona
