Suspected gang member slain in Cavite shootout

SAN PEDRO CITY – An alleged member of an illegal drug and criminal group was killed in a shootout with policemen in Dasmariñas City Cavite on Friday.

Police identified the slain suspect as Maem Sarif Natangcop, alias Maymay, a member of the Bayamba Group that was allegedly involved in illegal drug trade and contract killing in the area.

According to the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (Calabarzon) police, Natangcop was the target of a police buy bust operation in Barangay Salitran 4 at around 2am, but the suspect allegedly
engaged the policemen in a gunfight during the sale, prompting the shootout.

The police said they recovered six sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth), guns of caliber .45 and .9 mm, and a motorcycle with plate number BC 39174.
