2 dead, 2 hurt in Pangasinan road accident

DAGUPAN CITY — A tricycle driver and his passenger were killed when they were struck and run over by a cargo truck on Saturday in Alaminos City in Pangasinan province, police said. Two other passengers were hurt.
Tricycle driver Jomar Ruis, 27, and his back rider Marjun Reginez, were thrown off the tricycle and crushed by the truck that collided with the tricycle as it turned from the bypass road to the main highway in Barangay (village) Palamis at about 5:30 a.m.

SPO2 Brian dela Cruz, police investigator, said Ruis died on the spot, while Reginez died while being taken to a hospital.

Dela Cruz said the truck was loaded with cement for delivery to neighboring Mabini town.
