Teen shot dead at school concert in Ifugao capital town

BAGUIO CITY — A 14-year-old boy was shot dead  during a concert  on Wednesday night (April 26) at the Lagawe Central School open gymnasium in the Ifugao capital town of Lagawe, the Cordillera police said.

Ethan Ryo Sia was shot in the middle of a benefit concert at 10:20 p.m., and was rushed to a hospital there. But doctors declared Sia dead on arrival due to a gunshot wound in the head.

Concert goers managed to grab hold of the suspected gunman, 45-year-old Michael Dinamling, a member of the town’s public order and safety committee (POSC), who was wielding a loaded .38-revolver.

Dinamling was turned over to the Ifugao police. Investigators have not disclosed why Dinamling shot the boy.  SFM/rga
