Mandaue collects P210 M in taxes

/ 09:25 AM May 24, 2011

THE Mandaue City Treasurer’s Office has collected P210 million in revenues since January, exceeding the P170 million tax collection target for 2011.

Assistant City Treasurer Cipriano Jamora attributed the increase in collection to the automation of the processes in the City
Treasurer’s Office, which makes for quick and easy payment.

Jamora said that the revenues came from business, residence, and real property taxes.

He said that more businesses are becoming aware in their responsibility to pay taxes regularly.
“They have to do it as part of their obligation to the city,” he said. Correspondent Princess Kathleene Gabunales
