Ambassadors get CA nod
The Commission on Appointment approved on Wednesday the nominations of five officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
No member of the CA objected when the appointments of the diplomats were recommended for confirmation in the plenary. The five are the following:
- Eduardo Eco Kapunan Jr. as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of the Union Myanmar
- Buenvenido Villamor Tejano as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea
- Abdulmaid Kiram Muin as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste
- Evan Pumaren Garcia, Chief of Mission, Class 1 as permanent representative of the Republic of the Philippines to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland
- Celia Anna Mallari Feria, Chief of Mission, Class II as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Portuguese Republic. CBB
