LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Two motorists were killed and two others were injured in separate vehicular accidents along the Maharlika Highway in Atimonan town in Quezon province on Monday, police said Tuesday.

Chief Insp. Alexis Nava, Atimonan police chief, in a report said a Toyota Revo being driven by Salvador Enriquez, 54, accidentally sideswiped a Manila-bound Philtranco bus being driven by Allan Doringo in Barangay (village) Angeles at about 2 a.m.

With the impact, the Toyota vehicle was pushed to the opposite lane and collided head-on with the oncoming Higer Pintados bus being driven by Ramon de los Santos, report said. The Toyota vehicle then hit the steel railings on the side of the road and consequently turned turtle on the shoulder of the highway while the Higer bus subsequently hit an electric post and also the steel railings.
