2 brothers dead in Quezon road accident

LUCENA CITY — Two brothers died in a road accident along the Maharlika Highway in Atimonan town, Quezon province on Monday, police said.

Chief Insp. Alexis Nava, Atimonan police chief, said a Toyota Revo driven by Salvador Enriquez, 54, hit a Metro Manila-bound Philtranco bus driven by Allan Doringo in Barangay Angeles at 2 a.m.

Enriquez’s vehicle was running on the opposite lane when it collided head-on with the oncoming Pintados bus driven by Ramon de los Santos, Nava said.

The vehicle then hit the road’s steel railings and turned-turtle before landing on the shoulder of the highway.

Enriquez and his brother, Eligio, died while being taken to the Doña Marta Memorial District Hospital in Atimonan.

The passengers of the two buses were unhurt, police said.  SFM
