Did you know: Julio Nakpil

Today, Nov. 2, is the 51st death anniversary of musician and patriot Julio Nakpil. Born on May 22, 1867, in Quiapo, Manila, he was a member of the Katipunan. He was married to Gregoria de Jesus, the widow of Andres Bonifacio, with whom he had eight children, including National Artist for Architecture Juan Nakpil. In 1963, he was given a posthumous award by the Bonifacio Centennial Commission in recognition of his patriotism. Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
