LUCENA CITY – Authorities in Candelaria town in Quezon province arrested a woman for trying to smuggle packets of “shabu” into the local jail, police reported on Tuesday.

A police report said Mildred Solomon, 41, had nine grams of illegal drugs worth P16,800 inside a coin purse when she was arrested by Jail Officer 2 Joel Datos and JO1 Ma. Reneth Clores.

Solomon was reportedly on her way to visit her husband detained at the Candelaria district jail in Barangay Pahinga Sur when intercepted during a mandatory body search. CBB/rga
