The Philippine Coast Guard assured that it would conduct an impartial investigation into the sinking of the M/V Starilte Atlantic, a Starlite Ferry ship owned by Francis Cusi, son of Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi.

PCG spokesperson Commander Armand Balilo said the PCG has convened a five-man Special Board of Marine Inquiry to investigate the sinking of the M/V Starlite Atlantic, a roll-on, roll-off (Ro-Ro) ship.

It sank off Batangas a day after Christmas at the height of Typhoon “Nina,” leaving one dead and 14 rescued so far.
