Lacson: Kerwin Espinosa says affidavit of slain father fake
The signature of slain Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. in his affidavit linking various personalities to illegal drugs has been forged, his son said in a draft affidavit.
Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said Kerwin Espinosa’s claim was contained in the draft affidavit that was submitted to the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs, which he chairs.
Kerwin is expected to appear at Wednesday’s resumption of the committee hearing on the mayor’s killing inside his detention cell at the provincial jail last November 5.
“Si Kerwin sinasabi n’ya na hindi totoo ang affidavit ng kanyang father so parang binalewala n’ya ‘yun, ang sinasabi n’ya ito talaga na totoo (Kerwin said that that affidavit did not come from his father, essentially disowning it. What he’s saying is this one is the true affidavit),” Lacson told reporters.
“He even denied the signature of the mayor. Sabi n’ya hindi ‘yun ang pirma ng tatay n’ya (He said that is not the signature of his father),” the senator added.
