5 drug suspects killed in clash with Bulacan cops

CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Five drug suspects were killed in a clash with policemen in Norzagaray town on Sunday (Nov. 6), according to a belated report that reached the provincial police office.

Richard Calonzo, Angel Ivano, Levi Mateo, Chito Talento, a man identified only as Palo, and a woman going by the name, Neneng Boxer, were shot dead after they allegedly fired at policemen serving a search warrant at noon in Barangay (village) FVR.

Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Bulacan police director, said the suspects were listed on the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) watch list.

Supt. Rizalino Andaya, chief of police of Norzagaray, said they were enforcing the warrant issued against Palo, Wenceslao Cular alias Abba, Manolo Magracia y Mangaya, and Julius Bernardino alias Akong, issued by Judge Crisostomo Danguilan of Branch 21 of the Bulacan Regional Trial Court on Oct. 28.

The suspects were alerted by Ivano and the woman who shouted, “Police! Police!”

They were armed with shotguns, revolver and a fragmentation grenade, Andaya said.  SFM
