CEBU CITY—Eight ranking police officials and 20 policemen in Central Visayas were relieved from their respective posts, the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) based here, has announced.

Senior Supt. Renato Dugan, PRO-7 Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division chief, said the order came from Camp Crame and did not state the reason behind the relief of the police officers.

“We can’t say if this is still part of the internal cleansing because the order did not state any reason,” he told reporters.

Dugan refused to give the media the list of the newly relieved personnel, saying PRO-7 recently instituted protocol to no longer release the names of relieved personnel to the public pending any investigation that may be conducted by the Philippine National Police headquarters.

The affected policemen were ordered to report to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit in Camp Crame. Since July 1, one-hundred twenty three (123) policemen from Central Visayas have been relieved from their posts.
