President Duterte led commissioning rites for the BRP Tubbataha, one of the Philippine Coast Guard’s multirole response vessels (MRRV), during the agency’s 115th anniversary on Wednesday.

The Tubbataha is the first of the 10 MRRVs built at Yokohama Shipyard in Japan. MRRVs can be used in rescue operations and as staging areas for relief operations.

It can assist in the implementation of maritime laws, pollution control and sea patrols. —TINA G. SANTOS
