Army denies encroaching on MILF territories
MANILA, Philippines – The military did not encroach on the territories of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), an Army spokesman said over Radyo Inquirer 990AM Monday.
Major Harold Cabunoc said their troops never intruded the MILF’s “Area of Temporary Stay”.
At the sane time, Cabunoc said they continued to support the peace talks with the MILF.
Cabunoc said that the Philippine Army was trying to boost the morale of its soldiers who have lost their comrades and brothers in separate attacks in Basilan, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Lanao del Norte.
He said that they told their soldiers that the peace process “will work” and that when it pushed through, “wala nang dadanak na dugo, wala nang malalagas na buhay.”
The army spokesman said that they also reminded their men that the government would take care of them.
