2 killed, 11 hurt in bus-truck collision in Quezon
LUCENA CITY—Two persons died while 11 others were hurt when a bus hit a truck in Pagbilao town in Quezon province on Sunday night, police said on Monday.
Chief Insp. Jaytee Tiongco, Pagbilao police chief, said a Metro Manila-bound Wega Transport bus swerved to the other lane and hit a delivery truck along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay (village) Binahaan at 10 p.m.
Tiongco said the bus driver Fidel Barata Jr. and the truck driver Ronnel Gonzaga died instantly.
The truck also hit a tricycle driven by Carmelo Saavedra.
Police said residents and rescuers took Saavedra and 10 other bus and truck passengers to a local hospital. RAM/rga
