AFP to hold info drive on national emergency guidelines
Armed Forces chief Gen. Ricardo Visaya ordered lectures for the soldiers following the proclamation of state of national emergency on account of lawless violence.
The conduct of Troops Information and Education (TIE) is intended to serve as guidelines on how to perform specific tasks related to the proclamation, AFP Public Affairs Office chief Col. Edgard Arevalo said in a statement on Wednesday.
The tasks include the conduct of checkpoints, foot or mobile patrols, enforcement of curfews, whenever and wherever necessary in tandem with the Philippine National Police.
President Rodrigo Duterte signed the proclamation declaring a state of national emergency on account of lawless violence in the country before he left for Laos on Monday.
