Duterte appeals for peace: ‘Everybody is under stress’

JOLO, Sulu—President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday reiterated his appeal for peace, saying that war has taken its toll on all Filipinos.

In the case of soldiers, according to Mr. Duterte, they are also going through a very difficult situation these days and “everybody is under stress.”

“They think of how they perform their jobs while worrying about their families because (of rampant criminality such as drugs,)” he said.

He said to stop war, the shooting must end too.
