Wanted: A ‘killer’ to head PCSO
PRESIDENT Duterte is having a difficult time looking for the right person to lead the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
The reason?
Oddly, he is looking for the “one” who has the guts to get rid of crooks plaguing one of the juiciest agencies of the government.
“PCSO is a corrupt agency. I am looking for a killer to head this agency,” Duterte said in a speech during an environmental summit in Davao City on Thursday.
The President said many people in PCSO were turning the agency into their milking cow, raking in big money out of gambling games.
“Itong Philippine Charity Sweepstakes [Office], it is a corrupt agency. ‘Yang mga pabingo-bingo na ‘yan, hawak ng ano…‘yung lotto pati jueteng, ginanun nila…that is the racket,” he said.
This is why, the President explained, he has yet to announce a PCSO chair.
“And you would notice, I have never appointed anybody there. I am looking for a killer,” he said.
The President then said in jest, “Baka ikaw siguro, kaya mo maging PCSO chairman. Barilin mo lahat; you have my blessing,” he said.
The PCSO has been embroiled in alleged corruption activities particularly during the term of then President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Arroyo was accused of misusing 366 million intelligence fund of PCSO.
