Raps filed vs SUV driver in Pasig hit-and-run
Three families on Wednesday sued the driver of the sport utility vehicle that figured in a deadly hit-and-run incident in Pasig City on Sunday morning.
A complaint for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and serious physical injuries was filed against Baldwin Cham Velasco of New Manila, Quezon City, whose Subaru Forrester plowed into a group of call center agents who were about to cross the street on Doña Julia Vargas Avenue.
The driver’s lawyer has contacted the police and pledged to present him soon, according to PO3 Edwin Cruz, the Pasig police traffic investigator on the case.
The July 31 incident resulted in the death of Jake Sentillas, a 23-year-old from Ibayo Tipas, Taguig City; and the unborn child of Marinel Ravina of Masambong, Quezon City.
Ravina remained in critical condition at The Medical City hospital as of Wednesday. The complaint was filed in the Pasig City prosecutor’s office by the families of Sentillas and the injured Maika Uy of Marilao, Bulacan, and Carlo Villanueva of Taguig.
