‘Kidnap gang leader’ among 7 killed by cops in Angeles City

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Jimboy Santos, suspected leader of an alleged robbery and kidnapping group named after him, was among the seven men killed in a running gun battle with policemen in Angeles City and Magalang town in Pampanga on Monday.
Except for Santos, the six other suspects have not been identified by Monday evening, Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino, Central Luzon police director. One of the suspects died on the way to a hospital, he said.
Two of suspects were killed by members of the Pampanga units of the Highway Patrol Group and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Barangay Pulong Cacutud in Angeles City.
Santos and four others escaped from the clash but were killed in another firefight in Barangay San Jose in Magalang, Aquino said.
The Santos group, Aquino said, had kidnapped Chinese-Filipino businessmen and their families. SFM
